There are so many LVN programs in California, it can be hard to know where to start. Students often rely on ranking sites to help. After all, picking the right nursing school in California is one of the most important decisions you can make when you’re entering the nursing career.

Not only did we rank as the highest in our own city, but we’re also ranked 13th overall in the entire state!
How Nursing Schools Almanac Picked CDI as a Top Ranked LVN School in California
Nursing Schools Almanac is very specific in their selection criteria. This comes directly from the link (included above):
“To help aspiring vocational nurses evaluate their options, the research team at Nursing Schools Almanac has compiled an extensive database of student performance on the NCLEX-PN licensure exam. We analyzed this data over a lengthy period of time –- the past decade when possible — to calculate each program’s NCLEX pass rate among first-time test-takers.”
The site analyzed test data from 2011 to 2020 for first time NCLEX-PN test takers. The pass rate for CDI students was 93.2%.

What that track record shows is not only is our Los Angeles-based LVN program successful in attracting students, but also becoming an LVN is even more popular in 2021 than ever before. Taken from the article:
“California’s LVN graduates can expect a positive job outlook and competitive salaries. Expected employment growth for licensed vocational nurses is 9% over the next decade, much faster than the average for all occupations. The state’s LVNs earn an average annual salary of $64,090, more than $15,000 above the national average according to recent data (May 2020) from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Indeed, only the state of Alaska has a higher average salary for the role, and no state employs more LVNs than California.”
CDI Also Named Best LVN School in California in 2017
While 2017 may seem like forever ago to many of you, we’ll never forget when a similar site, PracticalNursing.org, named us the best LVN Program in California. At the time, the site examined 130 state-approved LVN schools in California, and we had the highest pass rate of any of the other programs they analyzed. In response to that ranking, our founder and president Janis k. Newton had this to say:
“We believe that solid preparation is not only important, it’s part of our job. There are many ways we train nurses for their careers, but it has to start with their being legally allowed to practice nursing in the state of California.
